One of the most gifted and talented R&B producers / writers / artists of the last half century, Jerry Williams Jr. morphed into his alter ego Swamp Dogg in 1969 and proceeded to make some of the quirkiest, funkiest and most controversial underground funk albums since the dawn of funk. Recently, Swamp Dogg has been hailed as the Real Doggfather Of Funk by Spin Magazine, and has experienced a career resurgence with legions of fans rediscovering his highly original independently released albums. Presented here is a collection of Swamp Dogg produced Christmas ditties ranging from the humorous “An Awful Christmas And A Lousy New Year,” “You Lose, Mr. Scrooge,” “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town Via Compton,” to more traditional fare such as “White Christmas” and “Auld Lang Syne,” all performed Swamp Dogg style. Along with Swamp Dogg, featured artists include long time Swamp Dogg associates Moogstar, Brenda Kaye Pierce, saxophonist Charles Hayes and drummer / vocalist Craig Kimbrough.
