Brian C. Martin, PhD, MBA is Professor and Director, Graduate Programs in Public Health in the School of Health Professions, and Assistant Dean for Admissions and Enrollment at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). He has operational and administrative responsibility for the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. As an academician Dr. Martin has taught undergraduate and graduate students, provided service activities, and conducted research in the area of health services administration for over 15 years. His research interests include access to care, financing healthcare services, cost/benefit analysis, and healthcare workforce development. Prior to entering academia, he performed strategic planning and new business development in a large, non-profit, tertiary care, teaching hospital. Dr. Martin earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (1988) and Master of Business Administration (1993) from the University of South Carolina School of Business. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Research and Administration (1996) from the University of South Carolina School of Public Health.
