Description
God loves stories too That's the way he chose to communicate. Wonder why? As the Creator of the universe and having all available power, why does he tell us stories? Maybe because we all love stories. Stories make children of us all. Maybe because we remember stories. We forget dry facts, but when someone says, Let me tell you a story, all ears tune in. Maybe because he wants us to get the point. We participate in his stories. As we listen to them, we say things like, That's me. I feel that way. I've done that too.Whatever his reasons, God opens his heart to us in stories. They're called parables.
About the Author
James H. Garrison (1842-1931), was one of the most influential leaders of the Stone-Campbell Movement in the period after the death of Alexander Campbell. For 62 years he was editor or regular writer of The Christian-Evangelist. Perhaps more than anyone else in his generation, he was responsible for preserving both the high view of Scripture and the heritage of Christian unity of the early Stone-Campbell Movement. He authored numerous books, but Alone with God proved to be his most popular work.
