Squirm release date searches usually land on this 1976 eco horror, and what sits here is the disc itself, not a stream or a rental window.
Who it's for
Practical effects people, mostly. Rick Baker built the worms before he was famous for it, and the film keeps them physical, wet and far too close to the camera.
Good to know
It takes its time. Buyers who came in expecting carnage from minute one say the first half hour is slow going, then the second act turns and does not let up.
The commentary is the extra people actually talk about, more so than the promo material bundled alongside it.
Synopsis
This horror classic will make your skin crawl! A downed power line accidentally sets thousands of icky-and very hungry-worms loose on the countryside. It's not long before they're covering the place and chowing down on the unsuspecting residents of Fly Creek, Georgia. Can an out-of-towner (Don Scardino) and his local girlfriend (Patricia Pearcy) save the day? R.A. Dow, Jean Sullivan, Peter MacLean co-star. Audio commentary; "making of" documentary; featurette; radio spots; TV spots; theatrical trailer.
