The Spanish Earth

Funded by a community of American literary artists-including Ernest Hemingway, Lillian Hellman, John Dos Passos, and Dorothy Parker-this moving propaganda film from Dutch documentarian Joris Ivens chronicles the struggle between the democratically elected Republicans and the fascist Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War in the late 1930s.
