The 'First Team' comprised seven songwriting duos: Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller, Gerry Goffin & Carole King, Doc Pomus & Mort Shuman, Neil Sedaka & Howard Greenfield, Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, and Jeff Barry & Ellie Greenwich. Other significant Brill Building songwriters included Ben Raleigh, Jack Keller, Bob Hilliard, Phil Spector, Paul Evans, Hank Hunter, Helen Miller, Tony Powers, Larry Kolber, Paul Hampton, Mark Barkan, Bobby Darin, Rose Marie McCoy and others.
