Ostanik, Mariana: - Victoria E. Olayinka, is a proud wife and mother to her cherished daughter, Morenike. As a Professor and critical gerontologist, she dedicated her career to aging, human development, and health policy. When Morenike was called to soar among the stars, she found herself navigating an ocean of grief. To cope with her heartache and honour Morenike's memory, she chose to write this children's book. "Someone to Cherish" became Victoria's heartfelt tribute to Morenike. Through this story, she hopes to comfort families who are experiencing loss, offering them understanding and companionship on their journeys. Victoria's wish is for this book to shine a light in the darkness, reminding both children and adults that even in times of sorrow, we can cherish the beautiful memories of those we love."In honour of my beloved daughter, Morenike, I am dedicated to donating 30% of the proceeds from "Someone to Cherish" to two Canadian organizations based in Edmonton, Alberta that support children in need. A portion will support the Stollery Children's Hospital ensuring that young patients receive the critical care they require. A portion will go to the ReYu Recovery and Paralysis Centre to benefit the children's wing, providing essential resources and care. Through this book, I aim to spread love, hope, and healing in our communities while honouring Morenike's spirit and the light she brought into our lives".
