McLeod, Maria: - Maria McLeod writes poetry, prose and dramatic monologues. Honors include the Indiana Review Poetry Prize, the Robert J. DeMott Short Prose Prize, three Pushcart Prize nominations, and Winner of the 2020 WaterSedge Poetry Chapbook Contest for her first chapbook, Mother Want. She has been published in leading literary journals such as Puerto Del Sol, Painted Bride Quarterly, Critical Quarterly, Crab Orchard Review, Sonora Review and others. Originally from the Detroit area, McLeod currently resides in the Pacific Northwest where she works as a professor of journalism for Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
