English summary: The Cilician plain is a cultural landscape surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and mountains in the south of Turkey. While centers of settlement have changed only marginally over the past millennia, the landscape has changed all the more: in the Bronze and Iron Ages, settlement mounds dominated the plain, and in Roman and early Byzantine times, numerous flat settlements characterized the region, which today is intensively used for agriculture. During the Middle Ages, this region was less densely populated and large areas were used by nomadic groups as winter grazing land. Today, the landscape is characterized by a few large towns, village settlements, farmland, plantations, and numerous irrigation channels. Susanne Rutishauser presents the cultural and landscape history of the Cilician plain from an archaeological perspective. For this purpose, the available information from excavations, surveys, and text archives, as well as the evaluation of remote sensing data are combined. It is shown, among other things, that the location of Late Bronze Age sites, as well as landscape elements on historical satellite image data suggest irrigation already during the Late Bronze and Iron Ages. German description Das "Ebene Kilikien" ist eine von Mittelmeer und Gebirgen umrandete Kulturlandschaft im Suden der Turkei. Wahrend sich die Siedlungsschwerpunkte in den vergangenen Jahrtausenden nur marginal verandert haben, hat sich das Landschaftsbild umso mehr gewandelt: In der Bronze- und Eisenzeit dominierten Siedlungshugel und in romischer und fruhbyzantinischer Zeit zahlreiche Flachsiedlungen die heute intensiv landwirtschaftlich genutzte Region. Diese war wahrend des Mittelalters weniger dicht besiedelt und weite Teile wurden von nomadischen Gruppierungen als Winterweidegebiet genutzt. Heute pragen wenige Grossstadte, dorfliche Ansiedlungen, Ackerflachen, Plantagen und zahlreiche Bewasserungskanale das Landschaftsbild. Susanne Rutishauser stellt die Kultur- und Landschaftsgeschichte des Ebenen Kilikien aus einer archaologischen Perspektive dar. Dafur werden die vorliegenden Informationen aus Ausgrabungen, Surveys und Textarchiven sowie die Auswertung von Fernerkundungsdaten zusammengefuhrt. Es zeigt sich u.a., dass die Lage spatbronzezeitlicher Fundplatze sowie Landschaftselemente auf historischen Satellitenbilddaten eine Bewasserung bereits wahrend der Spatbronze- und Eisenzeit vermuten lassen.
