Bassam Altaji was born in 1967 in Kuwait. As a child, he dreamt of building and piloting a flying machine, and he loved to make up stories to tell neighborhood children. He is the author of numerous children's books, including The Fisherman, The Adventure of the Three Ducks, and On the Way to School. He studied and lived in Hungary for 23 years, and now lives in Jordan.
