While the ministry of the pastor is most commonly described as a set of pastoral activities, such as preaching, teaching, and counseling, the true nature of the pastoral task as set forth in Scripture is the shepherding of the soul. As we engage the world of the 21st century, the power of our witness will largely be determined by the state of our engagement with the pastoral task.
