Sir George Shearing, the British born jazz piano legend, has had multiple albums on the Billboard charts from the 1950's up to the present day. These classic 1939 sides by then 20 year-old Shearing prove why the annual Melody Maker poll would select him as Britain's top pianist seven times before he emigrated to the States after the war.
