At the age of nine, Tommy Gorman began his working life as a page boy in the House of Commons in Ottawa, working under Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier. And what a working life it was! He went on to become sports editor of the Ottawa Citizen, a founding father of the National Hockey League, he coached and managed seven Stanley Cup winners, promoted an incredible cross-country skating tour with Olympic champion Barbara Ann Scott, and operated race tracks in Canada and Mexico.
