september years - Paperback

Selected poetry of Caley Dent from the past nine years.Honest and moving these poems touch on familiar themes, leaving the reader to connect and interpret their meaning. - Review - Caley Dent is a thoughtful and insightful artist. Within September Years, he searches for the beauty in hidden detail, the subtlety of the obvious. He is able to bring a languid sense of the familiar to the moments that pass us by so easily, and often. In doing so, he has captured the essence of what it means to explore that which binds us all. An artist whose sight can pierce the multiple micro-worlds existing within a glance, a touch, a syllable, the sound of a step, the disappearance of light. His gift to us is a displacement of our senses, and to demand a recalibration of what it takes to appreciate the spaces of the dark. He celebrates the frailties that simmer under our connections to other humans, to objects, to ourselves. He allows his words to journey from synapse to soul, and having set these passageways alight, he can then guide our stubborn faults with energy and renewal. - Jordan Tohiariki
