On April 3, 2022, the author was among members of the two Seminole Nations when they joined hands at the Loxahatchee Battlefield Park in Jupiter, Florida to retrace the footsteps of their ancestors, those who fought and died there, and those who left Florida to Oklahoma wearing shackles and chains.
