This study was written to encourage the ordinary person to pursue a deeper walk with the Lord. It is intended to be done alone, with a friend, or in a group. The contents are written from my heart and based on values I learned as a child from a basal reader. I am a grandmother, hence the title.


This study originated when my pastor, at that time, asked me to lead a women's Bible study and we couldn't find anything we wanted to study. I wrote this study for that purpose. This year, for Lent, I fasted the games I was playing in order to keep my mind sharp. I asked the Lord how to keep my mind sharp, and He impressed me to write this study as a book.

Bridges, Candice: - Candy is a 77 year old retired teacher, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Se has a BS in Elementary Education, a Masters in Reading, and a Masters in Learning Disabilities. She has taught Kindergarten through eight grade in public school, Freshmen-Seniors in college, and 5th grade at First Wesleyan Christian School. She taught English as a Second Language in Changsha, China for a summer. She is married and currently living in Bessemer City, NC where she attends First Wesleyan Church and sings in the choir, plus teaches an adult class.
