Details: In this recording Sandra Lied Haga and Katya Apekisheva present two French cello sonatas from the late 19th century. Cesar Franck (1822-90) composed his Violin Sonata when he was 63 years old, and this Sonata was later arranged for cello. Franck's younger colleague Rita Strohl (1865-1941) composed her "Great Dramatic" Cello Sonata in 1892.
