Moore, Ravenn L.: - Growing up in a vibrant, protective and nurturing neighborhood on the west side of Detroit in the 80s sets the landscape for Ravenn Moore's strong connection to ethos in her debut book, Sandpaper. A vivid dreamer, and out-the-box thinker, Ravenn began writing at a very early age, even selling such 3 or 4 sentence works to neighbors who willingly, and lovingly bought multiple pages for at least a quarter every time she knocked on their doors. It was there, on the west side of Detroit, where Ravenn developed an eclectic mix of grit, emotional intelligence, a sense of community; love of self and community, and a relentless grind, all eloquently conveyed between the lines of every poem in Sandpaper. Ravenn received her bachelor's degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University, and a master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Ravenn is a published journalist, copy editor and proofreader, grant writer, creative writer and financial budgeting consultant. She has worked for multiple companies and organizations in the United States and in Japan. She started Paperthick Publishing to publish her multiple collections of poetry, short stories, and novels. Ravenn also plans to publish the works of other writers as well. Ravenn resides in Detroit.Congdon, Valerie a.: - Valerie possesses a Master of Library and Information Science degree and spent the last third of her career in IT. She retired from the State of Michigan then later from private industry. She enjoys reading, spending time with her two grandchildren and the love of her life, her husband Marc.
