What happens when three friends from three very different backgrounds decide to room together during their first year of university? One is innocent and caring, another worldly and head strong, and the third naïve but easily drawn to making wrong decisions out of a need for acceptance. Ruth, Shanice and Lizzy have known each other all their lives, but they soon realise that living together is very different from seeing each other in school, and hanging out together.

All of a sudden it seemed as if trouble was waiting for them around every corner: problems at work, illicit relationships, lies and deceptions, almost being lured into a sleazy, demeaning job, their friendships tried and tested: all this while studying for exams. Could it get any worse? But, after living through all manners of unpleasant experiences, the end reveals a secret that Ruth was not expecting.
