The Irony: His name is Walker, but he's a runner. He's the only one who can stop the world from burning.
He is a sixteen-year-old boy who feels the crushing weight of global warming in his own life. Heat. Smoke. Disaster. He wants to do something about it-so much that he ends up representing Planet Earth in a monthly race where the stakes are the entire planet's future.
Each time Walker comes in first place, Earth's temperature drops by one degree Fahrenheit.
If he loses, the planet gets hotter.
That's unimaginable pressure for a 16-year-old. Everyone is depending on him to win every single race. Entire communities, governments, and ordinary people are counting on him to keep the world from overheating.
But Walker isn't just facing the heat on the planet. He's carrying personal traumas from his past-pain, loss, and the consequences of a lifetime of terrible "lifestyle" choices that have already damaged the world. Only a few people truly see what he's going through, and they become his anchors when the pressure becomes unbearable.
He's trying to save Planet Earth, but he also needs to be saved from Planet Earth-before it's too late.
Running For Planet Earth is an exciting young adult adventure that blends climate fiction, magical realism, and personal healing.
Perfect for readers ages 13-18 who love YA adventure with a higher-stakes, environmental twist, this book will resonate with fans of climate fiction, magical realism, and stories where personal healing and global survival are tied together.
If you liked books that combine real-world issues with impossible challenges, you'll love Walker's journey.
