Roxy Doyle meets Sam Dunham and becomes more smitten with him than she ever has another man. In fact, she thinks she's in love with him. She meets the little girl, and her mother, who turns out to be married to the sheriff. She also hears horrible things about Sam that cause her to think he might not be the man she thinks he is.
