Salve Regina

This release contains mostly works from Johann Rosenmüller's Venetian period of almost a quarter of a century, where he worked at the Ospedale della Pietà, among other places. The sacred works and instrumental pieces recorded here by I Fedeli impressively demonstrate how the composer not only appropriated the Italian style, but also skillfully knew how to combine it with 'Teutonic gravitas'. I Fedeli is an ensemble specializing in the performance of 16th and 17th century music. It was founded by Josué Meléndez and Nora Hansen with the aim of reviving the best and most exciting repertoire written for the cornetto in different combinations, and to present it to a wider audience.
