Book one, Bela Bonntineli, is expected to be released in the spring of 2027. It will dive deeper into the past, providing revelations into the events that preceded Rose Taylor.
Growing up, I strongly disliked history. It was boring, and I thought, Why bother with dusty stories from the past?
Even worse, I loathed all manner of grammar, reading, or writing. It was immaterial and a hatred of words hastily replaced the notion of literary adventures.
So, naturally, I've become a children's novelist who leans into historical fiction and magical world-building!
As an adult, I think back to my younger self and question, from a parental perspective, Would I be proud of my homeschooled daughter?
After several years of consideration, I can truthfully say I would.
With each page, chapter, and novel I write, I continue to learn.
It took me years to solidify the simple truth--that life, whether it be mine or those of my characters, will never be perfect.
