But before the R&R, Robert made a name for himself in single matches and a tag team with his older brother Ricky, whose career was cut short by a car accident. Ricky was a main eventer and trained his younger brother Robert. They had great success through out the south in the mid seventies and led to the beginning of the R&R Express.
