What I hadn't anticipated was a little clause in the contract, stating I must use a specific construction company for renovations. A business owned by a man who gave me one toe-curling, thigh-clenching, soul-defining night that came with a huge dose of reality the following morning.

I wanted to erase him from my memory, but that has not been easy. And seeing him once again because I'm his new boss, well, I can't decide if I want to kiss him or fire him.
