She spent a year with a fellowship at the American University in Cairo, and was guided by Shaykh Dr. Abdalqadir as-Sufi to study with Sidi Fudul al-Huwari in Fez, Morocco. She often works with her husband Shaykh Abdalhaqq Bewley and is one of today's most prolific translators of classical Arabic texts into English including the rendering into English of the Noble Qur'an.
