Brett Laursen is Professor of Psychology and Director of Graduate Training at Florida Atlantic University. His research focuses on parent-child and peer relationships during childhood and adolescence, and the influence of these relationships on individual social and academic adjustment. Dr. Laursen is a Docent Professor of Social Developmental Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He is currently the Methods and Measures Editor at the International Journal of Behavioral Development. Dr. Laursen is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Division 7, Developmental) and a Fellow and Charter Member of the Association for Psychological Science. In 2008, he received an honorary doctorate from Örebro University, Sweden. Dr. Laursen has edited or co-edited several books and monographs, the most recent being the Handbook of Developmental Research Methods.
W. Andrew Collins is Morse-Alumni Distinguished Teaching Professor of Child Development and Psychology at the University of Minnesota. A graduate of Stanford University, Dr. Collins conducts research on parent and peer relationships and influences during adolescence and young adulthood. He is principal investigator of the Minnesota Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children, in which participants have been followed from birth to age 34. Currently editor of the Monographs of the Society for Research in Child Development, he is a fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society. He served as president of the Society for Research on Adolescence from 2000-2002. Dr. Collins has edited or co-edited several books and monographs and has contributed numerous book and handbook chapters, as well as articles in scholarly journals.
