Red Tide - Paperback

When the United States and a dozen allies launch a major military exercise in the Philippines, the operation is abruptly overshadowed by explosive news: One of the largest oil and gas fields in history lies hidden beneath the South China Sea. China moves swiftly, crafting a bold plan to seize the entire region-and the resources-for itself.

As a massive typhoon bears down on the Western Pacific, tensions ignite into a pulse-pounding contest of strategy and nerve, culminating in the first-ever aerial duel between fifth-generation fighters.

Major Mark "Suds" Matthews returns in this electrifying follow-up to Night of the Bear. Determined to redeem himself after his last encounter with Russian pilots, Matthews finds himself pushed to the limits. Meanwhile, Special Agent Darryl "Dare" McCormick is hunting CPP spies on Philippine soil, fighting to protect the US and its allies, as well as the future she and Matthews hope to build together.

With his presidency in its final days, President Phillips faces one last, defining test: Prevent an all-out war with China and salvage his legacy before time-and diplomacy-runs out.
