Director John Dahl's ("The Last Seduction") smart, twist-filled thriller stars Nicolas Cage as Michael Williams, a down-and-out Texan whose drifting through the American West ends in a Wyoming bar where he's mistaken for a hit man. Williams accepts a proposition from the bar owner's alluring wife (Lara Flynn Boyle) to bump off her husband, but when actual killer Lyle (Dennis Hopper) arrives in town, complications ensue. J.T.
