Ruby is a small Chihuahua with a giant personality. When her mom suddenly brings home a timid puppy-mill rescue who trembles at every sound and doesn't even know how to be a dog, Ruby's perfect world is turned upside down.
Perfect for kids 7-10, Red Alert Ruby is told through Ruby's own hilariously dramatic voice. The true story lets readers experience exactly how it feels when a new "little brother" steals the spotlight. Ruby feels left out and forgotten as everyone fusses over Max. But everything changes the day danger erupts and Max does something so incredible, Ruby's heart is changed forever.
Parents can use the book to gently teach their kids to share with their siblings. Teachers can use the book to educate their classroom on the reality of puppy mills. Grandparents can get the book for their grandkids as a gift for birthdays, etc. Anyone who loves dogs can definitely relate to this book. Families who foster children as well as pets would find the material relatable.
Dog-lovers of all ages will enjoy this heartwarming, real-life tale about jealousy, rescue dogs, and discovering that sometimes the family you never wanted becomes the one you can't live without.
