On 15 November 1825 an extended conversation between CMS missionaries and Ngāpuhi rangatira was recorded at Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands, Aotearoa New Zealand. The dialogue involved the renowned Ngāpuhi leader Hongi Hika and his close kinsmen, alongside CMS missionaries led by Reverend Henry Williams, with George Clarke, James Kemp and Richard Davis also present.
