Dr. Ronald A. James, born and raised on the West Side of Chicago, found himself in the middle of racial conflict while in high school. In 1988 relocated to Grand Haven, Michigan to start a non-denominational church with his bi-racial wife and three children. Although the church was multi-ethnic, the ethnic makeup of Grand Haven was 95% European American. In 1996 a cross was burned in their front yard causing an uproar in this small rural community. Out of this movement, a grassroots organization came into existence, The Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance, organized to dismantle barriers that deprived all ethnicities full access to the American dream. Dr. James served as Vice President for the first three years. Over the span of 25 years, Dr. James along with his wife Lisa have facilitated many "Institutes on Healing Racism" conducted leadership training and helped churches and church organizations become sensitive to ethnic disparities. In addition to traveling to Europe, Africa and much of the United States, Dr. James has shared the message of "unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace". Dr. James has written another book "Father to Son" exploring his relationship with his father a Chicago police officer and how it relates to our relationship with God the Father. And has produced a Christian music CD "Winds of Change"
