Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) was one of America's most celebrated architects, renowned for his philosophy of organic architecture -- designing buildings that harmonized with their natural surroundings. Born in Richland Center, Wisconsin, he studied civil engineering at the University of Wisconsin before apprenticing under architect Louis Sullivan in Chicago. Wright founded his own practice in 1893 and over seven decades designed more than 1,000 structures, of which 532 were completed. His iconic works include Fallingwater in Pennsylvania, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and the Robie House in Chicago. He pioneered the Prairie Style, characterized by horizontal lines, open floor plans, and integration with the landscape. Wright was also a prolific writer and educator, founding the Taliesin Fellowship in 1932. He continued working until his death at age 91.
