Arnold, Darrell P.: - Darrell Arnold is philosopher and performing singer-songwriter. He has written on globalization and environmental issues especially as relevant to political theory and philosophy of technology. He is editor of Critical Theory and the Thought of Andrew Feenberg (Palgrave MacMillan) and Traditions of Systems Theory (Routledge). He has also done a myriad of translations from German, including Chrysostomos Mantzavinos's Naturalistic Hermeneutics (Cambridge U P) and Matthias Vogel's Media of Reason (New Directions in Critical Theory) (Columbia U P). He is currently associate professor of philosophy at Miami Dade College, Miami Florida. He served as Interim Dean at St. Thomas University and was President of the Humanities and Technology Association from 2014 to 2019. He has taught full time at St. Thomas University, Colorado State University, Pueblo, and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Darrell has been also been active as a performer/singer-songwriter since the 1990s. He has recorded five studio albums, most recently "Changing World," with the Nashville producer, Jack Shawde. In the early 2000s while living in Germany, he won a national award for CD Production of the Year with the German Pop and Rock Music Association for his CD "Everyday Stories." With his German band he did two opening tours for the Yardbirds in the early 2000s and played festivals with other blues rock bands including Canned Heat, Alvin Lee, Eric Burdon and the New Animals and Joe Cocker.Gapkovska, Irena: - Irena Gapkovska takes inspiration from the moments and impressions from life: As she notes: "As a Macedonian artist, the influence of the Byzantine is present in my work in many different ways. My images are usually rather surrealistic in style, and focus on the human figure in a symbolic manner. By using the aesthetics of ancient Macedonian art to express the spirituality of the subject, I make a bridge between abstract and figurative realities combining them in an authentic manner with an intellectual approach to make a unique visual story." Prior to Founding NGO Art Studio in Skopje, Macedonia in1998, Irena was graphic designer for the newspaper Elena and for Nova Makedonija Magazine, receiving a national award for best art illustration. She earned a Master's Degree in Graphic Art from St. Kyril Methodiy University Fine Art Academy in Skopje. In addition to her studio in Skopje, she had a studio in Miami for ten years until 2018, when she relocated to Perpignan, France.
