One of Cuba's most famous composers, Mario Fernandez Porta was a self-taught musician who did not read music, yet wrote some of the most famous tunes in Cuban music history. He was also a wonderfully interpretative pianist, as this rare album recorded in the early 1970's suggests. This special album recalls 40 years of his biggest successes, performed in medley style.
