Poppy's Combine is a story about a boy's experience of his grandfather's death. The reader meets Jake at harvest time in his grandfather Poppy's combine and follows him through the uncertain and emotional moments following Poppy's unexpected death. As Jake encounters these experiences, he is supported by his mother's love and their open conversation. The story ends as Jake finds peace and understanding about this important life event. Poppy's Combine is for children of any age, and for parents and family members who seek ways to talk about the death of a family member and teach their children about the cycle of life.
