Polliwog creates a world where women's discovery of a means of bodily autonomy inspires the end of politics and religion as we know it. In Polliwog, women decide for themselves whether or not to carry a pregnancy to term, and there's nothing anyone else can do about their choice. Political attempts to eliminate abortion clinics become irrelevant overnight. Religion is left with an empty place where the lust for control of others used to mobilize their base.

When therapist Theo Van Prooyen uses his training in trance work and native shamanism to help a desperate young teen deal with her unwanted pregnancy, the world's politics, religions, and pharmaceutical companies are left out...permanently. And not one of them is happy about this new world where women decide for themselves whether or not they will have babies.
