About the Author: First-time author Stefan Kowalski lives in suburban Syracuse, New York, where he is an elementary school math teacher. He was inspired to write this story because of "the lack of elementary books with a focus on girls and sports. Having two daughters of my own, I wanted them to have an opportunity to read about female characters and athletics at the elementary level." His next book will focus on girls playing lacrosse in elementary school.
