Mike
The superstar goalie was traded to the Toronto Blaze only to lose to his former team in the playoffs. Now Toronto hates him. Still, 'kidnapping' him and dragging him to her home to play road ball was a little excessive. But road ball was fun, and the short tempered red-haired swimming coach understood him and helped him regain his confidence.
Essentially adopted by the O'Reilly clan, Mike was less lonely, and he was drawn to Bridget. But he learned long ago that when it came to relationships and hockey, hockey always won, with someone else paying the price. How much could he ask Bridget to sacrifice?
Bridget
Her temper wasn't THAT bad, but there were a few things that set her off. With five older brothers, any indication she couldn't keep up with them was a trigger. How else could she explain coercing a hockey superstar to play road hockey to prove she knew the sport? Fortunately Mike took it well, and they became friends.
Mike and the O'Reilly family were spending time together, and Bridget couldn't resist falling for him. But he had a demanding career leading him in one direction, and hers was headed somewhere else. Could she give up her professional dreams for a chance at love?
This book was previously released by Harlequin's Heartwarming line as Crossing the Goal Line. It is a closed door romance.
