Comprehensive Play Therapy Resource for Ages 3-5
Play Therapy for Preschool Children provides mental health professionals with evidence-based interventions for preventing and resolving common disorders in children aged 3-5 years old. This clinical resource combines practical techniques with case illustrations to demonstrate effective therapeutic approaches.
Clinical Applications and Interventions
The book addresses mild-to-moderate behavior problems through structured play interventions. Chapters demonstrate techniques for working with insecurely attached preschool children and those experiencing posttraumatic issues. The text integrates play therapy with parent psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, showing practitioners how to combine modalities for optimal outcomes.
Contributors detail specialized interventions for autistic and developmentally delayed children, offering practical strategies adapted to their unique needs. The resource extends beyond individual therapy to include play interventions in classroom settings and parent-child therapeutic contexts.
