Grandmother Ilona started collecting recipes in 1905 in an Austro-Hungarian small town and accumulated 300+ recipes of various pastries, cakes and tarts, reflecting the delightful Austrian and Hungarian confectionery traditions. The recipes were translated from German and Hungarian, carefully tested and adjusted to current units of measure, ingredients, and tools.

Testing and adapting the recipes was done by my friend. Leora Steif, who also converted them to the detailed instructions provided in this book.
