Can the church congregation fire the pastor when appropriate?
How much authority does the pastor have over the church? This is a live question for many churches today, and it raises a host of other crucial questions: how much authority the church board has over the pastor? Is there any limitation to the authority of the pastoral leadership? Who holds the pastoral leadership accountable? Can a local pastor mandate tithes and who determines how it is used?
To answer these questions, Pastoral Leadership and Church Government lays out a practical, relevant, and time-tested approach to understanding the role of pastors according to Scripture. Pastoral Leadership and Church Government contains direction for pastors, ministers, and deacons on the administration of the New Testament Church. Here, Dr. Herman lays out the vital mission of the church.
