Wuxia demon cultivation meets dark YA Fantasy in OVERSOULS: Demon Eater. A coming-of-age story, set in a walled-off citadel plagued by demons.
Recommended for fans of Spirited Away and Soulsborne.
-Book One in The Demon Eater Trilogy.
"Soul is the source of life. It powers the wards and relics that keep humanity safe. Nothing can live without soul, not even demons. But since demons have no souls of their own, they come to steal yours"
-Grandmaster Suzume, founder of the Black Art of demon cultivation
When a reaper breaks into the fortress sanctuary and slaughters every living soul inside, fifteen-year-old Aura flees to the Grand Citadel.
But inside the walls, powerful forces are wrestling for control and raising long-buried demons, eager to tear free of their cages.
To stay out of the belly of the hungry capital, Aura must feed her own inner darkness while evading the Royal Exorcists and keeping out of the holy fire. Unfortunately, her inexperience attracts the attention of the sick and twisted creatures haunting the backstreets.
Worst of all is the Demon Eater, an unstable demon cultivator who tries to tear Aura to pieces on sight, and grows increasingly obsessed with chasing all her inner monsters out into the light.
