Our River Jordan - Paperback

Some secrets are buried for a reason. Others are meant to be found.

After a fight on the school bus, fourteen-year-old John Harrison finds himself caught in a generational feud between three families. This leads him to discover a hidden journal that uncovers a family mystery, guiding him deep into the Alabama swamp. What he finds there will answer all the unasked questions about his family's past and the price his ancestors paid for love and friendship. During our nation's darkest days, violence lived in chains and whips that never left the master's hands.

This is the history of "Our River Jordan." Freedom from slavery. Freedom from sin. Freedom from the real prejudice behind the mask. In these waters, enemies become brothers, the lost find salvation, and ordinary people discover grace they never knew existed.

At the end of the Civil war, two boys, one white, one black, one free, one enslaved, built an unbreakable bond and fought for freedom at a creek that would become sacred ground.

But in a place where showing mercy can get you killed and the wrong choice destroys everyone you care about, freedom comes with a price. A fight that pushes people to the extreme.

Would they come out of this creek alive? Can love survive when hate runs deeper than blood?
