Chavez, Lorretta: - Dr. Lorretta Chavez is a longtime educator who has taught in public schools and at the university level for 37 years. She holds a B.A. in elementary education, a Master's Degree in Linguistically Diverse Education, and a Ph.D. in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. She is spending her retirement, or golden years, writing this book.Sarris: - Dr. Juli Sarris is a contributing writer. She is Affiliate Faculty at CU-Boulder's School of Education, and has been teaching teachers for over 15 years in six different countries, in addition to the U.S. She holds a Ph.D. in Education/Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity from CU-Boulder. She and her family live in Boulder and enjoy hiking, camping, and snowboarding in Colorado's beautiful outdoors.Gonzales Guerrero, Andrés: - Dr. Andrés Gonzales Guerrero, Jr. was born in La Colonia del Alcarán in Houston, Texas. He was married twice to two beautiful, strong, and intelligent women. He has four children and six grandchildren. He is a strong advocate for the poor and oppressed caused by capitalism. He has taught in Houston, Chicago, Saginaw, and Greeley. He also worked as a college recruiter for LULAC Service Centers. He has published several articles and two books, A Chicano Theology (1987) and Freedom, Justice and Love (2018). He currently has three books in process: Pouring New Wine Into Old Wineskins: A Socio-Theology of Mexican American Imprisonment, and Stop The Madness. He has a degree in philosophy and five graduate degrees in Divinity/Theology and Spanish from the University of St. Thomas, Harvard Divinity School, and the University of Northern Colorado.
