We are struck wondering what would happen to the future of the nation and of the students.

The love marriage of the budding political leader of the future adds fuel to the turmoil. The angle of the inter-caste wedding is being downplayed here. Had the boy and girl waited for a time when they could stand on their own financially, the path of love would have taken a completely different route.
