Optimystic was the discovery of famed British record producer Ian Levine. After his success with Bad Boys Inc, Levine wanted to put together a group that was mixed boys and girls, and Optimystic was born, years before Steps. The vocals are very soulful and slick, led by the amazing Ian McKeith, and probably proved too classy for the teen market, but the "Best of Optimystic" has gone on to become a Dance cult favorite.
