"From a medical standpoint, Richard's survival was improbable. From a spiritual standpoint, it was a Divine purpose. Coincidence is random, but a miracle is intentional. His survival was too precise, too timely, too profound to be anything other than God's will at work. This book is a powerful reminder that God's plan extends far beyond what medicine alone can explain." - Dr. Kenneth Ares, Richard's general practitioner

On October 10, 2022, Richard Leigon suffered from massive internal bleeding and died. After thirty years as a hospice coordinator, Laurrana knew he was gone without being told. What she witnessed next defies medical explanation. One Breath is a love story about connection after trauma and the profound lessons Richard learned in his time between breaths.

Richard and Laurrana Leigon met while studying at Sonoma State University and embarked on a lifelong journey of meditation and martial arts. Richard's distinguished career included serving as Executive Director of Southern Nevada IBEW/NECA-LMCC. Laurrana became a pioneer in hospice and bereavement care.

Discover how one impossible breath revealed eternal truths about love, resilience, and the unbreakable bond between two souls.

Leigon, Richard: - "Richard Leigon earned a degree in humanistic psychology from Sonoma State University. It was an emerging field at the time, and the subject matter lit his fire. After graduation, he sidestepped the California scene of the late sixties and was welcomed into a yoga ashram in Hawaii. There, he practiced meditation, yoga, and martial arts, which remained part of his life in the coming decades. Richard's career ultimately took a practical turn when he followed in his father's footsteps as a union electrician. An unexpected opportunity ultimately brought him back to his hometown of Las Vegas, where he served as Executive Director IBEW/ NECA - LMCC on a street named Leigon Way in honor of his father. Today, Richard is retired and enjoys his life as a grandfather."Leigon, Laurrana: - Laurrana met Richard while pursuing her degree in Sociology at Sonoma State University. After recognizing their love, she joined him in Hawaii, where they married. Her thirty-year career as a hospice bereavement and comfort care coordinator prepared her in profound ways for Richard's death and return. She is a well-respected pioneer and leader in that field, which was new at the time she started. Laurrana helped create effective programs for hospice organizations that are still in use today. An avid reader and lifelong journaler, Laurrana pursued her passion for writing in retirement, starting with her grandmother's story. However, that project had to wait when Richard's experience plunged her into the role of full-time caregiver. After emerging from that ordeal, she felt prompted to turn their energy to this story.Richard and Laurrana make their home in Richard's hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, near their son and his family. They enjoy weekly video chats with their daughter and her family, who live abroad.
