Julia De la Puente (1999) is an artist from Southern Mexico living in Vancouver, BC. Julia is forever in awe of the stories around her, told and yet to be told, and how they shape us. In storytelling she values honesty and the desire to embrace magic. She spends most of her time collaborating with her husband, illustrator Alex Swanson, under the studio name Fig and Trumpet, and tending to their garden. Alex Swanson (1999) is an illustrator from the Pacific Northwest now living in Vancouver, BC. Through illustration Alex expresses his love for the natural world and of wandering through the woods aimlessly. After meeting his wife Julia De la Puente, he began illustrating the stories she told and dreaming up new ones together.
