Notes From The Podium

What happens when the music stops, but the memories remain?

For over forty-five years, Beth Armstrong stood before students, community choruses, and concert halls, discovering that choral directing isn't just about perfect pitch or precise tempo-it's profoundly a "people business."

In Notes from the Podium, Armstrong shares a lifetime of stories from the rehearsal room, the stage, and the quiet moments in between. Through heartfelt narratives about shy beginners finding their voice, grieving students finding solace in song, and the messy, beautiful realities of leading volunteer singers, this memoir reveals how music teaches us to listen, connect, and heal.

Inside, you'll discover:

• The unspoken lessons of patience, empathy, and leadership that only emerge when teaching others to sing.
• Behind-the-scenes glimpses of high school rehearsals, community choruses, and unforgettable performances.
• A powerful reminder that every singer, regardless of skill, carries a story worth hearing.

Whether you're a music educator, choir member, arts lover, or simply someone who believes in the transformative power of a shared song, Notes from the Podium will resonate deeply.
